Laser eye surgery fees and financing
When considering laser eye surgery, many people are confused about the costs. While many providers on the high street offer low initial fees in advertisements, many patients are disappointed to find that these very low offers do not apply to them. Often, quoted treatment fees do not include essentials like wavefront analysis, post-operative medications, aftercare appointments or even enhancements after treatment.

Instead, we offer a transparent and simple approach to pricing, regardless of your prescription. We ask our patients to consider one fee for the whole treatment with everything included. Easy payment plans are also available upon request.

Laser eye surgery treatment financing
We also offer treatment financing schemes. Please ask the Optical Care Consultant to discuss this with you at the complimentary Refractive Surgery Consultation. Please call 0500 400 222 to schedule this consultation.

Laser eye surgery price comparison
Some patients ask us how our laser eye surgery prices compare with advertised prices on the high street. First, when making any comparisons, it's important to be comparing like with like. There are a number of factors affecting price that most prospective laser eye surgery patients aren't aware of until they attend their consultation. These factors include:

Will the price cover your prescription?
Many high street advertised prices are for the very lowest prescriptions and often are increased when the patient has either a higher prescription or has any astigmatism. The Sheffield Vision Centre's prices include all prescriptions with or without astigmatism.

What is included in the price?
The vast majority of high street advertised prices do not include wavefront analysis or treatment. Our prices include wavefront analysis and treatment if you can benefit from it. Furthermore, some clinics charge additional fees for post-operative medications, supplementary eye drops, supplementary post-operative appointments, and enhancements to the original procedure. Sometimes, you will only see the treating surgeon at the actual surgery appointment, and not before or after the procedure. At Sheffield Vision Centre, we include everything you might ever usually need arising from the procedure for a whole year after your treatment.

What treatments are available?

Many high street providers advertise prices for their least expensive treatments (i.e. Epi-LASIK). These treatments, while achieving very similar results to more convenient treatments (i.e LASIK) are not as popular due to associated convenience factors (e.g. discomfort, longer recovery times, longer healing times, more post-operative appointments required). At the Sheffield Vision Centre, we charge the same price for either LASEK or LASIK, so cost isn't an influencer on deciding what is best for you.

"I've lived in Sheffield all my life. I'd been thinking about having it done since I was 16.  I'm 28 now! I waited because I was reluctant to have it done with someone who didn't have a reputation. Other places have more general surgeons, who'd just as likely operate on your arm as your eyes.
My optician kept putting me off, but one day he told me about the new bloke setting up a new clinic. He eventually referred me on to Matthew, and said that he's the man to have it done with.  It was very reassuring to have the consultation and talk to someone who knows what they're talking about. The post-operative care was second to none and the fact that you get to see Mathew every time you go is reassuring.  I've been 5 times now, and every time you see the surgeon."
